The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Page (Part-Time, Non-Benefited). This position will require the employee to have the flexibility to work up to 19 hours per week. This position is temporary but continuous and will serve at the discretion of the department head.
Work Schedule Hamilton Library positions are for 5-15 hours per week and the schedule will vary, including nights and Saturdays.

Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and life-long learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of k knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community, and collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Our libraries continuously reflect on the current and emerging needs of patrons and choose to advance literacy and champion inclusive learning experience for all people by fostering accessibility and embracing new technology.
Who we are looking for
Our new team members will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with the ability to:
• Follow oral and written instructions;
• Learn and apply Chandler Public Library policies and procedures;
• Respond courteously to customer inquiries;
• Sort, file, and shelve materials according to alphabetic and numeric codes;
• Operate a personal computer and related software and demonstrate proficiency to prepare email and timesheets;
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with the public and other employees.
Essentials
1. Shelves library materials.
2. Organizes returned library material.
3. Collects and returns material used in-library by patrons.
4. Contributes to the maintenance and upkeep of the library's common areas.
5. Provides patrons with basic, directional library assistance, as requested.
Minimum qualifications
- High School student or graduate; and
- Experience performing basic clerical and customer service work; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
